Dear Rosewood College Families,
It is with great joy and gratitude that I write to you as we continue our journey towards the opening of Rosewood College in 2027.
For some families, this journey began several years ago. You have shared in the vision from its earliest days, encouraged us through every stage, and patiently walked alongside us as plans have developed. For others, your journey with Rosewood has only recently begun. Wherever you have joined us, we are deeply grateful for the trust and confidence you have placed in the College.
Over recent months, Rosewood College has reached several significant milestones. At the end of June, we submitted our thorough and carefully prepared application for registration to the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority (VRQA). This application represents years of prayer, planning, consultation and hard work from a dedicated team of educators, professionals and supporters who have generously contributed their time, expertise and energy to establishing the College.
As with every new school in Victoria, Rosewood College continues through the standard registration process with the VRQA. We look forward to working closely with them throughout this process and remain committed to the careful preparation required ahead of the commencement of Rosewood College in 2027, subject to registration by the VRQA.
Support from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools
One of the most encouraging developments in recent months has been the support we have received from Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).
MACS has generously made available a portion of its land in Cobblebank to support the establishment of Rosewood College and provide the College with its initial location as we prepare to welcome our inaugural students in 2027.
This arrangement represents a significant endorsement of the College's vision and the work undertaken thus far. The willingness of MACS to make this opportunity available to us reflects the confidence that has been built through years of careful planning, prayer and preparation.
Rosewood College will be an independent school that teaches the Catholic faith, governed by its own Board and led by its own leadership team. While we are deeply appreciative of the support provided by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools, Rosewood College has its own identity, mission and governance. It is not a MACS school. We value the trust and confidence shown by MACS, which has helped strengthen the foundations upon which Rosewood is being established.
The benefits of commencing on an established educational site are significant. This opportunity avoids substantial legislative, regulatory and planning processes associated with establishing a new site, allowing the College to direct greater time and resources towards what matters most—preparing an outstanding educational experience for our students and families.
Importantly, this arrangement also allows us to take a thoughtful and measured approach to the development of our permanent Melton site. Rather than rushing decisions or construction in order to meet immediate deadlines, we now have the opportunity to carefully plan a site that reflects the vision and aspirations of Rosewood College and will serve families for generations to come.
Making an Independent Education More Accessible
From the beginning, the Board has recognised that choosing an independent school represents a significant commitment for families. With this in mind, we have developed a fee structure that seeks to provide flexibility while supporting the long-term strength and sustainability of the College.
Families will have access to a range of payment options and fee initiatives designed to provide flexibility, recognise long-term commitment to the College, and support families in managing school fees.
Our hope is that these arrangements will provide practical support for families while helping establish a strong foundation for the future of Rosewood College.
Building Our Inaugural Community
As we look towards 2027, we have been greatly encouraged by the growing interest from families wishing to become part of Rosewood College’s inaugural community.
The College remains committed to opening from Prep to Year 5. As with all new schools, the final composition of classes will be determined once enrolments are confirmed. Our inaugural class structure will reflect the needs of our first cohort of students while ensuring that every child receives a rich and engaging educational experience.
Our long-term vision includes single-sex classes through the middle and upper primary years. In these early years, depending on enrolment numbers, some classes may initially include co-educational groupings or mixed year levels. This is a natural part of establishing a new school community and will be approached thoughtfully, with the educational needs of students always at the forefront.
Every new family who joins Rosewood brings us closer to this vision. We are encouraged by the positive interest we are seeing and look forward to continuing to grow a strong founding community.
Our First Chapter
As we look ahead to the opening of Rosewood College, we do so with confidence and a deep sense of gratitude for all that has been achieved. Goals that have been pursued over many years are being realised, important milestones continue to be reached, and we have been blessed with an exceptional team whose dedication, professionalism and commitment have helped bring the College to this point.
Throughout this journey, we have seen many moments when opportunities have opened at exactly the right time. We are deeply grateful for God's providence and the many blessings that have guided the College's establishment. We continue to pray for wisdom, strength and guidance as we prepare for the years ahead.
To those who will become our founding families, we want to acknowledge the unique role you are playing. Every great school has a beginning. Long after enrolments grow and generations of students graduate, there will always be a unique place in Rosewood College's history for those who first believed in this vision.
By joining Rosewood College in its inaugural year, you are not simply enrolling your children in a new school. You are helping write the first pages of the College's history. You are helping establish the culture, traditions and spirit that will shape Rosewood for generations to come.
One day, future students and families will look back with gratitude to those who had the courage, faith and generosity to become the founding families of Rosewood College.
Thank you for your continued trust, encouragement and prayers. We look forward to welcoming you and your children as we begin this remarkable first chapter together.
May God continue to bless you and your families.
Yours sincerely,
